Traffic arrangements have been changed at Koba Circle in Gandhinagar due to ongoing bridge construction.
To reduce congestion and ensure smooth movement of vehicles, police will implement a capsule U-turn pattern by closing the circle.The Ahmedabad Police has successfully used the capsule U-turn system at several busy junctions to regulate traffic and reduce traffic jams. Following the same approach, Gandhinagar Police will introduce the system at Koba Circle, a key route connecting Gandhinagar and Ahmedabad.
According to Gandhinagar Police, nearly one lakh vehicles pass through Koba Circle every day. While traffic is expected to become smoother after the bridge is completed, temporary route changes have been made during the construction work.
Vehicles travelling from Adalaj towards Ahmedabad through Koba Circle will be diverted about 200 metres towards Gandhinagar before being routed towards Ahmedabad through the Kamalam Cut.Similarly, motorists heading towards Tapovan Circle or the SP Ring Road will be able to take a U-turn at Bhat Apollo Circle and continue towards their destination.
The traffic arrangement will remain in place until the bridge construction at Koba Circle is completed. Police said the changes are aimed at preventing vehicle queues and maintaining smooth traffic flow during the construction period.
