A nine-year-old Class 4 student at an English-medium private school in Ahmedabad’s CTM area was allegedly beaten by a teacher and the school principal after he gave a female classmate a note that read “I love you”.
According to the complaint, the incident took place on September 19. The student allegedly gave the note to the girl in the classroom. After the note was found, the teacher questioned the boy and later informed the principal.The complaint alleges that the teacher and principal scolded the student and hit him on the hand with a footrest during the questioning.
The student reportedly returned home upset and was crying in his room. When his mother asked him what had happened, he allegedly told her that the teacher and principal had beaten and reprimanded him.
The mother subsequently approached Ramol police and lodged a complaint against the teacher and principal. Police have registered a case under the relevant provisions of the Juvenile Justice Act and started an investigation into the incident.
