The World Circular Economy Forum (WCEF) 2026 will be held from September 15 to 18 at Mahatma Mandir in Gandhinagar, Minister and government spokesperson Jitu Vaghani said after the Cabinet meeting.
This will be the first time Gujarat hosts the international forum.Vaghani said the WCEF is a major global platform for policy discussions, knowledge sharing and international cooperation on the circular economy. The 10th edition of the forum will be inaugurated by Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and Union Environment Minister Bhupender Yadav.
The four-day event will bring together policymakers, international organisations, financial institutions and academic institutions to promote resource efficiency, sustainable production and consumption, innovation and circular economy-based business models.Around 2,500 delegates from India and abroad are expected to attend the forum. The event is being organised by the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) under the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, in partnership with the Gujarat government and Finland’s Sitra.
The forum will feature four plenary sessions, 16 parallel technical sessions and 80 accelerator sessions. A total of 146 exhibition stalls will be set up, including 11 international and 135 Indian stalls. Of the Indian stalls, 63 will be from Gujarat.
WCEF 2026 will showcase India’s and Gujarat’s initiatives in circular economy, resource efficiency, sustainable industrial development, recycling, waste management and Mission LiFE on a global platform.
