A routine trip outside her home turned into a frightening ordeal for a 54-year-old woman after a neighbour’s pet German Shepherd allegedly attacked her in Ahmedabad’s Vastral area on Thursday evening.
Kapilaben Prajapati had stepped out of her house in Harbhola Park Section 2 to dispose of garbage when the dog approached her and allegedly bit her on the right wrist. She was taken to a hospital following the incident and received medical treatment.
Kapilaben told police that she had previously been attacked by the same dog. She alleged that about four months ago, the animal had bitten her on the right leg near the ankle as well as on her left wrist, resulting in injuries.
She further alleged that the dog’s owner, Dharmishthaben Prajapati, had failed to keep the animal properly restrained and had left its leash open, creating a potential danger to people in the neighbourhood.
Following the latest incident, Kapilaben approached the Ramol police station and lodged a complaint against the dog’s owner. Police have registered the complaint and are looking into the circumstances surrounding the alleged attacks
