Air India Express is set to resume direct flights between Surat and Sharjah from November, with bookings now open for the upcoming winter schedule. The airline will initially operate the service once a week, with the frequency likely to increase to three or four flights a week depending on passenger demand.
The first flight is scheduled to operate on November 4. Flight IX 275, an Airbus A320, will depart from Surat Airport at 1:25 pm and arrive at Sharjah International Airport at 3:15 pm.
The return flight, IX 342, will leave Sharjah at 5:50 pm and reach Surat at 10 pm on the same day. The return service will also be operated by an Airbus A320.

The resumption of the Surat–Sharjah service will restore a direct international air link between South Gujarat and the Gulf region. The route was operated earlier but was later discontinued.
Surat Airport has previously handled international services to destinations such as Sharjah, Dubai and Bangkok. However, some of these routes were discontinued, while flights between Surat and Dubai have operated intermittently.
With bookings now open, Air India Express may increase the frequency of the Surat–Sharjah service if demand remains strong. The route could eventually operate three to four days a week, similar to its earlier schedule.
The service is expected to benefit passengers from Surat and nearby areas travelling to the UAE for business, work, tourism and family visits, while reducing the need for connecting flights.
