An Air India Express flight from Dammam to Delhi made an emergency landing at Ahmedabad Airport on Monday after a crew member discovered a tissue paper bearing the word “bomb” inside the aircraft’s lavatory.
Ahmedabad Police said the incident prompted immediate security measures. An Air India Express spokesperson said the government-appointed Bomb Threat Assessment Committee (BTAC) was alerted immediately, and all prescribed security protocols were activated.
The flight landed safely in Ahmedabad, and all passengers were safely deboarded. The airline said the aircraft would be released for further operations only after the completion of all necessary security checks.
The airline added that the diversion to Ahmedabad was carried out as a precaution following the specific bomb threat and in accordance with established security protocols.
