An IIM Ahmedabad student has alleged that a Swiggy delivery executive made obscene gestures towards her while delivering a food order on the institute campus.
According to the student’s complaint, the incident took place after the delivery agent initially told her that she looked like an “angel.” She alleged that his behaviour turned inappropriate while she was completing the OTP verification for the order.
Police identified the accused as Nipam Dineshbhai Jat Thakkar, 37, a Swiggy delivery agent from Wadaj. He was arrested after the student lodged a complaint.
Vastrapur Police Inspector Gita Chaudhari said, “We have arrested the accused and booked him under various sections of the BNS. Further investigation into the matter is underway.”
Police are investigating the complaint and verifying the sequence of events surrounding the delivery.
