A proposal to name a wholesale fish market in Surat after Prime Minister Narendra Modi has sparked opposition from some fish traders.
The Surat Fish Merchant Association recently inaugurated the market under the name “Shree Narendra Modi Wholesale Fish Market.” A banner at the market also carried a picture of the Prime Minister.
However, some traders have objected to the decision to name the market after PM Modi, leading to a dispute over the naming of the facility.
