Gujarat Prepares for Vibrant Gujarat 2027: 13 Committees Formed for Mega Investment Summit

The Gujarat government has begun preparations for the 11th edition of the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit (VGGS), scheduled to be held in January 2027. To ensure smooth planning and execution of the high-profile investment summit, the state government has formed 13 specialised committees to oversee logistics, security, business meetings, exhibitions, transportation and other key arrangements.

According to a government resolution issued by the Industries and Mines Department, the committees comprise senior bureaucrats and administrative officials who will be responsible for different aspects of the summit. The event is expected to bring heads of state, global business leaders, investors and diplomatic delegations to Gandhinagar.

Logistics, Venue and Security Arrangements

With a large number of national and international delegates expected to attend, the government has given special attention to venue management, security and transportation.

Venue and Event Management: Rajkumar Beniwal, Managing Director of Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilizers Company Ltd (GNFC), will head the Venue, Event and Access Management Committee. The panel will oversee access control, venue arrangements, seating, and the inaugural and valedictory ceremonies at Mahatma Mandir. It will also coordinate theme-based and country-specific seminars.

Exhibition Planning: The Exhibition Committee will be responsible for organising trade exhibitions at the Helipad Exhibition Centre (HEC) in Gandhinagar. The committee will be headed by Hareet Shukla, Principal Secretary in the General Administration Department.

Security Arrangements: The Law and Order and Security Committee, led by Director General of Police (DGP) G S Malik, will manage security at venues and along important routes. Parking arrangements will also be coordinated as part of the security plan.

A separate Traffic and Parking Committee will be co-chaired by the Additional Director General of Police (Law & Order) and the Home Secretary.

Airport and Transport Facilities: Lochan Sehra, Secretary of Labour, Skill Development and Employment, will head the Airport Facility Committee. The panel will coordinate the arrival and reception of delegates at Ahmedabad and Vadodara international airports.

Kuldeep Arya, Secretary of Tourism, will oversee protocol arrangements, transportation, accommodation and organised excursion visits for delegates.

Focus on Business Meetings and Investment MoUs

Investment and business partnerships remain at the heart of the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit. Several committees have been assigned responsibility for facilitating high-level meetings between investors, government representatives and political leaders.

One-to-One Meetings: Sanjeev Kumar, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, will lead the One-to-One Meetings Committee. The panel will coordinate high-level meetings involving the Prime Minister and Gujarat Chief Minister.

B2B and B2G Meetings: Business-to-business and business-to-government meetings involving officials from the Central government and other states will be managed by a committee headed by Milind Torawane, Principal Secretary of Primary and Secondary Education.

MoU Management: A dedicated committee chaired by Ashwani Kumar, Principal Secretary for Environment and Climate Change, will track and coordinate Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) signed during the summit.

Special Events, Seminars and Global Outreach

The summit will also feature seminars, country and state sessions, exhibitions and other special programmes.

Seminars and Global Coordination: Avantika Singh Aulakh, Managing Director of Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation Ltd (GSPC), will head the Seminars Committee. The panel will organise country and state sessions and coordinate with Indian and foreign diplomatic missions.

Global Crafts and GIFT City Showcase: Mohammad Shahid, Principal Secretary for Cottage and Rural Industries, will head the committee responsible for gifting, souvenirs, the Global Crafts Showcase and GIFT City events.

Documentation and Media Records: Shahid will also lead the Documentation Committee, which will manage rapporteur teams, official guest records and media archives related to the summit.

The formation of the 13 committees marks the beginning of detailed preparations for Vibrant Gujarat 2027, with the state government focusing on ensuring efficient coordination and creating a strong platform for investment, business partnerships and global engagement.
