The Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation (GSRTC) has revised the Daily Passenger Pass Scheme, offering greater fare concessions to lakhs of people who travel by ST buses regularly.
Under the new rules, passengers will get a 50% concession on the daily pass scheme. The move is expected to benefit more than 2.5 lakh employees, workers, traders and businessmen who depend on ST buses for their daily commute.
30-day travel for the fare of 15 days
Under the revised monthly pass scheme, passengers earlier had to pay the fare equivalent to 18 days. This has now been reduced to 15 days, allowing them to travel for 30 consecutive days.
Similarly, the quarterly pass fare has been reduced from 54 days to 45 days, while passengers will be able to travel for 90 consecutive days.
GSRTC said the decision aims to reduce the financial burden on regular passengers and encourage greater use of safe, convenient and affordable public transport.
