Airfares from Ahmedabad to Goa have surged sharply ahead of the Janmashtami holidays, with one-way tickets crossing Rs 18,000. The fare is more than three times the usual price of around Rs 5,000.
Interestingly, a one-way flight from Ahmedabad to Dubai is currently available for around Rs 13,000, making international travel cheaper than the domestic Ahmedabad-Goa route.
With Janmashtami falling on September 4, demand for Goa flights is expected to rise further. Airfares could reach around Rs 25,000 as the holiday period approaches.
Goa sees a large influx of tourists from Gujarat during the Janmashtami break, including groups and couples who visit the state for its casinos and entertainment. The increased demand for flights has contributed to the sharp rise in ticket prices.
