A tragic incident occurred off the coast of Chhara village in Kodinar taluka of Gujarat’s Gir Somnath district, where five teenagers were caught in deep water and a strong sea current while bathing. Three of them were rescued by local fishermen, while two lost their lives.
According to initial reports, two teenagers began drowning after being swept away by powerful waves. Their three friends rushed into the sea to save them but also became trapped in the strong current. Locals quickly gathered at the beach after learning about the incident.Fishermen nearby immediately jumped into the sea and managed to rescue three teenagers after a difficult operation.
A large-scale search was then launched by the Navy, Coast Guard, and NDRF to locate the missing boys.The body of Bhavesh Chudasama was recovered on Tuesday, while the body of Nirmal Hamirbhai Chudasama was found near the Shapoorji Company jetty on Wednesday morning. Police have sent both bodies for postmortem examination.
The deaths have left Chhara village and the Kodinar region in deep mourning. Grieving families and shocked residents are struggling to come to terms with the heartbreaking loss.
