The Ministry of Health on Saturday announced a series of reforms for NEET PG 2026, introducing major changes to the postgraduate medical entrance examination.
The exam will be conducted in a single shift across more than 1,300 examination centres in nearly 340 cities nationwide.Candidates will receive their test-city intimation slip on the official website around three weeks before the examination, giving them sufficient time to plan their travel and accommodation.
The ministry has also revised the exam pattern by reducing the number of questions from 200 to 180 while retaining the total duration of three hours and 30 minutes (210 minutes). The change is expected to give candidates more time to answer each question. In addition, Aadhaar-based authentication has been made mandatory to strengthen the examination process.
