Train services on the Western Railway continue to be disrupted due to heavy rainfall, with normal operations yet to be fully restored.
Several trains, including the Surat–Vadodara MEMU, have been cancelled again because of the non-availability of rakes. At the same time, many trains, including the Dadar–Bhuj Sayajinagri Express, are running behind schedule by 1 to 11 hours.
Long-distance trains have also been delayed due to waterlogging on railway tracks in the Ahmedabad–Viramgam section.
The continued cancellations, short-term terminations, partial-origin services, and delays over the past four days have left thousands of passengers stranded. Daily commuters and long-distance travellers have been the worst affected.
Help desks at several Western Railway stations, including Vadodara, are witnessing heavy crowds as passengers seek information about train schedules and cancellations.
