Heavy rainfall in the upper catchment areas has led to a sharp rise in the water level of the Bhogavo River near Vanitlav village in Dholera taluka. The overflowing river has inundated nearby roads, cutting off the village from surrounding areas and leaving it isolated like an island.
In response, the Ahmedabad Rural Police, district administration, and teams from the NDRF and SDRF launched immediate rescue operations. Police personnel have been deployed at the site, and efforts are underway to safely evacuate stranded residents. Authorities are closely monitoring the situation.
The Anandpur-Buranpur road has been closed after floodwaters submerged the approach road. Police have stepped up patrolling and are preventing people from attempting to cross waterlogged stretches.The Ahmedabad Rural Police has urged citizens to avoid closed roads, stay away from rivers and flooded areas, and rely only on official updates instead of rumours.
Meanwhile, heavy rains have also caused flooding in Dhingda village near Bagodara, where both the village and the main road are submerged. SDRF and NDRF teams are carrying out rescue operations on a war footing to evacuate villagers trapped by the rising floodwaters to safer locations.
