The National Service Scheme (NSS) unit of Gujarat Arts and Science College (GASC) has won first place in the SafeMode Challenge, receiving the Award of Recognition for its extensive road safety awareness campaign.
The challenge, organised jointly by UNICEF, NSS and Elixir (Gifting Lives), honoured institutions for their efforts to promote safer road practices and community engagement. GASC’s NSS volunteers reached more than 5,000 people through a series of awareness initiatives, including road safety checkpoints, seminars, school outreach programmes, poster-making competitions, field surveys, street plays and public rallies.
The award recognises the college’s sustained efforts to spread awareness about road safety and encourage responsible behaviour among commuters and the wider community.
