An employee in Vadodara has been booked for allegedly vandalising his employer’s vehicles, threatening to kill him and stealing cash after his demand for a salary hike was refused.
According to a complaint filed by insurance agent Jatin Rameshbhai Patel of Neelamani Residency in Manjalpur at Atladara Police Station, Malav Dilipkumar Patel, a resident of Jasper Homes on Sevasi Road, had been working in his office for the past eight years. The complainant said Malav had quit the job three to four times in the past but was rehired each time with a salary of ₹1 lakh per month, which was later increased to ₹1.25 lakh.Despite the hike, Malav allegedly continued to demand a higher salary. When the request was turned down, he stopped reporting to work from July 3.
The complainant alleged that on Tuesday, Malav used a cricket bat to smash the windows of one of his brother’s cars and damage the lights of another vehicle. When Jatin tried to intervene, Malav allegedly rammed his car before fleeing the scene.
Jatin also claimed that ₹2 lakh kept inside his car was missing and alleged that Malav had stolen the cash.Police have registered a case and are investigating the allegations.
