The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has temporarily suspended several online member services from June 26 as part of a major database upgrade and software integration exercise. The services are expected to be fully restored from July 1 after the technical work is completed.
The upgrade is aimed at improving the speed, security and efficiency of EPFO’s digital services for millions of subscribers. During the maintenance period, EPF members and employers are likely to face disruptions in several online services. Members will not be able to submit fresh provident fund claims online, including those related to retirement, job loss, medical emergencies and advance withdrawals.
The temporary suspension has also affected access to the EPF passbook, preventing members from checking their account balance, monthly contributions and interest credited. Online tracking of both new and previously filed claims may also remain unavailable during the upgrade.
Additionally, several Universal Account Number (UAN)-related services, including KYC updates and modification of member details, have been impacted. Members requiring urgent withdrawals may experience delays until the online claim filing system is restored.
According to the EPFO, the maintenance work is scheduled to conclude by midnight on June 30, with all online services expected to resume from July 1.
