Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel on Monday announced the establishment of eight new Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation (GIDC) estates across five districts to boost industrial growth, attract investments and generate employment opportunities.
The announcement was made during the fourth edition of the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference held in Vadodara.
According to an official release, the eight Smart Industrial Estates will be developed over 3,611 acres in Kheda, Ahmedabad, Panchmahal, Chhota Udepur and Bhavnagar districts.
In Kheda district, four new GIDCs will be set up at Mahij (130.3 acres), Sarkhej in Kathlal taluka (332.7 acres), Mahisa in Mahudha taluka (18.5 acres) and Anghadi in Galteshwar taluka (310.9 acres).
The remaining four estates include Mandal GIDC in Ahmedabad district spread over 515.2 acres, Nadisar GIDC in Godhra taluka of Panchmahal district on 105.5 acres, Undva GIDC in Jetpur Pavi taluka of Chhota Udepur district on 247.1 acres, and Monpur GIDC in Vallabhipur taluka of Bhavnagar district, which will be the largest at 1,950.7 acres.
The state government said the Smart Industrial Estates will be equipped with modern, plug-and-play infrastructure to facilitate faster industrial operations and improve ease of doing business. The initiative is also aimed at attracting fresh investments and creating employment opportunities for local youth while strengthening Gujarat’s position as a preferred industrial destination.
