In the wake of recent fire incidents at coaching institutes in Surat and Lucknow, the Vadodara Fire Brigade has launched a citywide fire safety inspection drive targeting coaching classes and other educational institutions.
Under the supervision of the Deputy Chief Fire Officer, seven inspection teams have been deployed across different parts of the city to check compliance with fire safety norms. As part of the campaign, officials are also conducting awareness sessions for institute administrators on fire prevention, emergency preparedness and safe evacuation procedures to prevent panic during emergencies.
Over the past two days, the Fire Brigade inspected 49 institutions, including coaching centres, computer training institutes and other educational establishments.
During the inspections, fire safety deficiencies were found in 15 institutions, which have been served notices directing them to rectify the shortcomings within the stipulated time.
The institutes that received notices are:

- Dev Vocational Training, VIP Road
- Canon Co. Institute, Waghodia Road
- Deep Patel Classes, Vaikunth Char Rasta, Waghodia Road
- Computer Center, Waghodia Road
- KS Institute of Technology
- Little Rambo Kids, Tarsali
- You Will Classes, Malhar Point, Vadiwadi
- Aswinsar Commerce Classes, Malhar Point, Vadiwadi
- Little Giants, O.P. Road
- J.K. Shah Classes, Vadiwadi
- J.P.’s Pathshala, Gorwa Panchvati
- Gayatri Coaching Classes, near Mahavir Hall, Waghodia Road
- Vijay Shah Engineering Classes, Siddhivinayak Complex
- Indu Classes, Shankar Tekri Road, behind the Faculty of Technology
Fire officials said the inspection drive will continue across the city to ensure educational institutions comply with fire safety regulations and provide a safe environment for students and staff.
