A disturbing case of alleged animal cruelty has surfaced in Jamnagar, where a dog was reportedly thrown from the first floor of a residential building, leaving it injured. The incident, which took place on Sharu Section Road, came to light after a video of the act went viral on social media.
According to reports, after the video began circulating online, the accused, identified as Pappu, allegedly attempted to remove the injured dog from the area. He reportedly arranged a vehicle and covered its front and rear number plates with black tape in an apparent attempt to avoid identification.
However, local animal welfare activists received information about the incident and reached the spot before the dog could be taken away. They intercepted the vehicle and rescued the injured animal.
Further allegations emerged during the rescue operation, with activists claiming that the accused had also assaulted a puppy with a bat, resulting in a fractured leg. The injured puppy was found at the location in severe pain.
Animal lovers immediately shifted the puppy to a local NGO for treatment. Veterinarians later performed surgery on its injured leg, and the animal is currently recovering under medical supervision.
Based on a complaint lodged by animal welfare activists, local police have registered a case against the accused and initiated an investigation into the incident.
The case has triggered outrage among residents and animal rights groups, who have demanded strict legal action against those responsible for the alleged acts of cruelty.
