Passengers travelling through Ahmedabad’s Kalupur Railway Station can now enjoy greater convenience with the launch of a Digital Luggage Locker facility, introduced by the Railways from June 10.
The new service was inaugurated during a special event attended by senior railway officials, who also reviewed the operations of the automated locker system.
The initiative has been launched as part of efforts to upgrade passenger amenities and introduce technology-driven services at the station. Railway authorities said the facility is designed to provide a secure and hassle-free solution for travellers carrying luggage.
The digital lockers are expected to be particularly useful for passengers arriving from other cities, those waiting for connecting trains, and travellers who wish to move around the city without carrying heavy bags.
Using the facility, passengers can safely store both small and large pieces of luggage in automated lockers and retrieve them at their convenience. The service will allow travellers to explore Ahmedabad, attend meetings, go shopping or visit tourist attractions without the burden of carrying their belongings.
According to railway officials, the Digital Luggage Locker system offers a modern, secure and user-friendly alternative to the traditional cloakroom service, enhancing the overall travel experience for passengers passing through one of Gujarat’s busiest railway stations.
