A video showing a group of youths allegedly trespassing into an Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) swimming pool near Potlia Char Rasta in Saraspur and creating a disturbance late at night has gone viral on social media.
According to the footage, around 10 to 15 individuals entered the swimming pool premises after operating hours and were seen playing Gujarati songs at high volume while bathing in the pool.
Sources said the group reportedly gained entry either by scaling the rear wall of the swimming pool complex or by intimidating security personnel posted at the main gate.
Local residents claim that similar incidents have occurred three to four times at the same facility in the past. Despite repeated written and verbal complaints to civic authorities, no concrete measures have reportedly been taken to prevent such breaches.
The incident has also raised concerns about security arrangements at the municipal facility. Residents pointed out that the large complex allegedly lacks CCTV surveillance despite repeated instances of unauthorised entry.
AMC authorities are yet to lodge a police complaint regarding the incident, even though it took place on government property.
