In an effort to improve traffic flow and reduce congestion, the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC), in coordination with local police and traffic authorities, carried out a joint enforcement drive in the Thakkarbapanagar area.
The operation was conducted by AMC’s Estate and Urban Development Department (North Zone), Nikol Police Station, and the 1st Division Traffic Police. Teams targeted road obstructions and illegal parking along the stretch from Thakkarbapanagar Bridge to Kothia Hospital and further up to Canal Road.
During the drive, authorities removed encroachments and took action against vehicles parked illegally. Several vehicles were issued challans, while others were clamped or locked as part of the enforcement measures.
Officials said the initiative is aimed at easing traffic congestion and ensuring smoother vehicular movement in the North Zone. The drive is also expected to improve road safety and promote better traffic discipline among motorists.
Authorities added that similar joint operations will continue in the area to keep roads free from obstructions and facilitate hassle-free movement for commuters.
