To ensure smooth travel for cricket fans attending the Tata IPL 2026 final at Narendra Modi Stadium on May 31, the Ahmedabad Municipal Transport Service (AMTS) has significantly expanded its transport arrangements by deploying additional buses across the city.
As per an official AMTS order, 130 buses will operate on 21 routes for spectators travelling to and from the stadium. The fleet includes 80 buses running on 15 regular routes and 50 buses on six special night routes, a substantial increase from the earlier plan of 20 buses on five night routes.
The special night services will commence after the conclusion of the match and continue until all spectators have left the venue. These routes will connect the stadium with major city locations such as Vasna, Maninagar, Odhav, Narol, Ujala Circle and Kalupur. A flat fare of Rs 30 per passenger has been fixed for the special services.
AMTS officials have been directed to coordinate with depot managers, starters, vigilance teams and terminal staff to ensure uninterrupted operations and sufficient bus availability. Additional personnel will also be deployed to assist passengers and manage crowds during the event.
Meanwhile, Ahmedabad Janmarg Limited (AJL), which manages the city’s BRTS network, has announced the deployment of 52 buses for the final, including 36 regular services and 16 additional buses. BRTS operations will continue until the end of the match to cater to the expected surge in passenger demand.
In addition to the enhanced services, AJL has stationed staff at key locations for traffic regulation and passenger assistance, aiming to provide seamless connectivity for the thousands of spectators expected to witness the high-voltage IPL title clash.
