Kankaria Lakefront, one of Ahmedabad’s most popular tourist attractions, has witnessed a huge rise in visitors during the summer vacation season. The scenic lakeside destination attracted large numbers of local residents as well as tourists from outside the city, thanks to attractions such as Kids City, Balvatika, the Nocturnal Zoo and Butterfly Park.
According to official data, Kankaria Lakefront recorded a massive footfall of 3,74,016 visitors between April 27 and May 21. The Atal Express toy train remained a major attraction, carrying 54,119 passengers during the period, while Kids City welcomed 2,637 children. Officials said the visitor count during the vacation period was nearly double compared to regular days.
The tourist rush has also boosted revenue collections, with earnings crossing nearly Rs 50 lakh in just 25 days. The well-maintained lakefront, attractive lighting, musical fountains and family entertainment facilities have made Kankaria a favourite outing spot for families and tourists alike.
Authorities have made extensive arrangements to manage the crowd, including enhanced security, regular cleanliness drives and improved visitor amenities to ensure smooth operations.
