Gujarat Technological University (GTU) on Tuesday issued a circular to its affiliated diploma colleges announcing a mandatory Skill Based Training Programme (SBTP) for all diploma engineering students under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020-aligned curriculum.
According to university officials, the initiative aims to strengthen students’ practical knowledge, technical skills, communication abilities, teamwork, confidence and overall industry readiness through hands-on training and industrial exposure.
The SBTP will be compulsory for students across all diploma engineering branches. The programme will run for two weeks or 60 hours.
Officials said students can complete the training either with industries and companies or through skill training institutes and Centres of Excellence (CoEs) associated with GTU SKILLS.
