Ahmedabad: The Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSEB) is preparing to announce results for Class 12 and Class 10 board exams next week, offering a glimmer of hope to about 15.28 lakh students statewide.
Sources indicate that the Class 12 results—covering both science and general streams—are expected to be released on May 4. Following closely, the Class 10 results are anticipated around May 6. However, an official confirmation from GSEB is still pending.
The examinations took place between February 26 and March 18, with over 15.3 lakh students registering for the tests. This total includes approximately 9.1 lakh candidates for Class 10 alone.
Diving into the numbers, among Class 10 students, there were:
- 7.7 lakh regular candidates
- 19,825 private candidates
- 70,702 repeaters
- 5,386 private repeaters
- 41,286 separate candidates
The situation was similar for Class 12 general stream candidates; they included:
- 5.01 lakh total registrations, with:
- 4.4 lakh regular students
- 35,174 private candidates
- 15,813 repeaters
- 7,873 private repeaters
