The Government of Gujarat has approved 17 new bus routes under the Chief Minister’s Urban Bus Service Scheme to improve public transport and ease daily commuting in three cities.
The proposal was cleared by Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghvi, expanding services in Navsari, Vapi, and Palanpur.
Out of the total routes, seven have been allotted to Navsari Municipal Corporation, four to Vapi Municipal Corporation, and six to Palanpur municipality in Banaskantha district.
According to the official statement, the move will offer affordable and convenient transport options, especially benefiting industrial workers in Vapi and students and residents in Palanpur. It is also expected to reduce reliance on private vehicles and help ease traffic congestion.
The government said the initiative will improve connectivity to outer areas and ensure reliable, time-bound public transport. Modern buses introduced under the scheme are expected to provide safer, more efficient travel while supporting urban development and environmental sustainability.
