A 38-year-old man has filed a police complaint in Ahmedabad, alleging he was assaulted by his fiancée’s colleague and three unidentified men near Ambli after confronting the accused over alleged abusive remarks.
According to Sarkhej police, the complainant, Krishnavadan Hariprasad Gedia, a resident of Shela, said the incident took place on April 27 near Landmark Hotel on Bopal Road.
In his complaint, Gedia stated that he had come across an audio recording on his fiancée’s phone in which her colleague, identified as Vihar Solanki, allegedly used abusive language while speaking to her about work.
Upset over the remarks, Gedia said he called Solanki the same day and asked to meet him. When the request was allegedly declined, he decided to go to his fiancée’s office on Bopal Road to confront him.
Police said that while Gedia was speaking to his fiancée on the phone near the hotel, he was allegedly attacked from behind and knocked to the ground. He claimed Solanki then hit him on the head with a stick, after which three unidentified men joined in and assaulted him with sticks while abusing him.
The complainant also alleged that the accused damaged his mobile phones and threatened to kill him if they saw him again.
Gedia suffered injuries to his head, wrist, chest, ribs and nose, and was taken to a nearby hospital by his fiancée. Doctors reportedly indicated fractures in some parts of his body.
Police have registered a case against the accused on charges including assault, criminal intimidation and causing grievous hurt, and further investigation is underway.
