A citizen filed a complaint against ITC Narmada after allegedly finding a small flying insect in a sandwich served at the property.Following the complaint, a team from the Amdavad Municipal Corporation conducted an inspection of the hotel’s food preparation and hygiene standards. Officials found that the establishment had a valid and up-to-date Food Safety and Standards Authority of India licence. Its pest control certification was also current, indicating regular upkeep.Inspectors noted that the kitchen maintained proper waste management and overall cleanliness, and complied with required food safety norms.Despite meeting most standards, action was taken against the Food Business Operator (FBO). Authorities issued a notice and imposed a fine of ₹15,000 in connection with the incident.
