Traffic diversion on the SG Highway stretch between Karnavati Club and YMCA Club has been extended till May 31 due to ongoing flyover construction work.
According to the traffic police, the National Highway Division had earlier received approval on July 21, 2025, for a six-month diversion plan to facilitate girder launching after completion of bridge pillars. Following a request from the executive engineer, the diversion period has now been extended to complete the remaining spans and ramp work of the elevated corridor.
As per the revised route, vehicles coming from Sanand and Sarkhej towards YMCA Club will have to take a left near the club, proceed via Bhagwan Circle, turn right at Zaveri Circle, continue through Chakri Circle, and then take another right towards Karnavati Club to rejoin SG Highway.
Meanwhile, ahead of an Indian Premier League match on Sunday, city traffic police said that due to local body elections, the road from Janpath T junction to Narendra Modi Stadium (Motera) via Krupa Residency T junction and Motera Gam T junction will remain open for traffic.
