Two alarming incidents related to food quality have emerged in Ahmedabad, leading to formal complaints to local authorities and the police.
In a significant case, a Class-I officer linked with the Gujarat High Court reported receiving moldy bread through the Zepto delivery service. The bread, sourced from a store in Motera, had an unpleasant smell and was deemed unfit for consumption. When the officer confronted both the delivery personnel and store staff about the issue, their response didn’t meet expectations. This unsatisfactory interaction prompted the officer to contact police over concerns regarding public health.
Meanwhile, another complaint surfaced from a customer who discovered hair in a pizza at a restaurant located in Shahibaug. The complainant, who is also a doctor, expressed his displeasure directly at the outlet. Although staff offered to replace the pizza, he felt that wasn’t enough. Frustrated by their handling of the situation, he took further action by submitting a written complaint to the Amdavad Municipal Corporation.
Both incidents reflect growing concerns over food safety standards in Ahmedabad and underscore the need for stringent regulations within food service establishments.
