The Junagadh Municipal Corporation has announced that the scenic lake will now host pre-wedding photo shoots and various cultural activities, a move aimed at boosting both tourism and local job opportunities.
This decision came during a recent meeting of the standing committee, where officials approved organized photography sessions at the picturesque lakefront. With this new initiative, young couples won’t have to travel far for those perfect pre-wedding clicks—Narsinh Mehta Lake offers an ideal backdrop right in the heart of the city.
The municipal body has established a fee structure with ₹5,000 for a three-hour pre-wedding shoot slot. Officials believe this pricing will make it accessible to many while generating much-needed revenue.
Additionally, an amphitheater located within the Sarovar area is now open for cultural events, providing local talent with a platform to showcase their skills. Local artists can book this space for performances at a cost of ₹4,000 for three hours.
Civic authorities are optimistic about the benefits these changes will bring. They anticipate new opportunities emerging for photographers, videographers, and performers, solidifying Junagadh’s status as an up-and-coming destination for culture and tourism.
