Deadline Approaches for RTE Admissions in Ahmedabad Schools

Deadline Approaches for RTE Admissions in Ahmedabad Schools

Ahmedabad’s deadline for submitting applications under the Right to Education (RTE) Act is just around the corner. Parents have until April 17 to apply for their children’s admission into private schools.

So far, officials report that about 206,482 applications have been submitted. This figure is a noticeable drop compared to last year’s total of 238,942 applications. The admission process kicked off on April 4, marking the beginning of an important enrollment period.

This year, over 84,000 seats are available across roughly 9,722 private schools, which accounts for 25% of total admissions as stipulated by the RTE Act. Last year’s figures reflected a more robust offering with around 93,000 seats.

The decrease in applications has raised some eyebrows among education officials and parents alike. It’s unclear why fewer families seem interested this time around. Many are urging others to take advantage of the remaining time before the application window closes.

The RTE Act aims to ensure quality education for all children and mandates that private schools set aside a portion of their seats for economically disadvantaged students. As the deadline approaches, both excitement and anxiety fill the air as families prepare for potential outcomes.
