The romantic action film Dacoit released in theatres on Friday. The movie got a decent response from audiences, but its first-day box office performance was average.
According to trade reports, the film earned about Rs 6.5 crore net in India on Day 1. Its total India gross collection is around Rs 7.57 crore, while it made Rs 6 crore overseas. This takes its worldwide total to about Rs 13.57 crore.The film was released in both Telugu and Hindi. The Telugu version performed much better, earning Rs 5.6 crore, while the Hindi version collected only around Rs 90 lakh.
Overall, the film had about 26% occupancy in theatres.In comparison, Dacoit has done slightly better than Adivi Sesh’s earlier film HIT 2 on the first day. It also performed better than some of Mrunal Thakur’s recent films, but it still lags behind big Telugu releases and other major films currently running in theatres.
Now, the film’s performance over the weekend will be very important to decide its overall success.
