Parts of Gujarat are expected to receive light to moderate rain along with thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds over the next four days, according to the weather bulletin issued on April 1.
On April 1, areas like Kutch, Banaskantha, Patan, and Devbhumi Dwarka may see light rain, along with thunderstorms and winds of 30–40 kmph.
On April 2, several districts including Banaskantha, Mehsana, Vadodara, Surat, and parts of Saurashtra-Kutch are likely to experience thunderstorms with lightning, gusty winds, and light to moderate rainfall at isolated places.Similar weather conditions are expected on April 3 in districts such as Banaskantha, Sabarkantha, Junagadh, Amreli, Bhavnagar, Dwarka, Kutch, and Diu.
Between April 4 and the morning of April 5, thunderstorms with lightning, winds of 30–40 kmph, and light to moderate rain are likely in districts like Aravalli, Dahod, Vadodara, Bharuch, and parts of Saurashtra-Kutch.After April 5, the weather is expected to turn dry across the state.
Temperatures are likely to remain steady for the next 24 hours and then drop by 2–3°C in the following days. Recently, the highest temperature recorded was 37.1°C at Vallabh Vidyanagar.
The changing weather is due to cyclonic circulations over Rajasthan and nearby Kutch, along with a western disturbance affecting the region.In Ahmedabad, the sky will remain partly cloudy, with temperatures around 37°C.
Authorities have advised people to stay alert during thunderstorms, as strong winds may uproot trees, damage crops, and disrupt power supply. Residents are urged to stay indoors during lightning, avoid standing under trees, and keep away from electric poles and water bodies.
