The Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has taken a major step towards developing its ambitious ‘City Square’ project on Sindhu Bhavan Road by inviting tenders for the 522.22 crore plan.
First announced nearly three years ago, the project is now set to move into the execution phase. Once completed, the City Square tower will stand at a height of 175 metres—equivalent to more than 50 floors—making it one of the tallest buildings in Ahmedabad.
Designed as a modern urban hub, the project will combine leisure, dining, and entertainment spaces. A key highlight will be a two-storey restaurant located around 40 metres above ground, with a seating capacity of about 900 people. A terrace café above it will accommodate around 200 visitors.
At the top, a glass skywalk at 175 metres is planned, offering panoramic city views and a unique “walk-on-glass” experience.
Key features of the project include:
- Sky View: Observation deck and glass skywalk at 175 metres
- Dining: 900-seat restaurant and terrace café at 40 metres
- Parking: Three-level basement for around 410 cars and 1,465 two-wheelers
- Entertainment: Amphitheatre with seating for about 450 people
- Urban Plaza: Ground-level food kiosks, landscaped gardens, and a central fountain
The ground floor will be developed as a lively public space with food stalls, greenery, and a water fountain. A three-level basement parking facility has also been planned to manage the expected footfall.
