A student team from Nirma University has made a mark by securing second place at the prestigious ROBOFEST Gujarat 5.0, a national-level robotics competition organized by GUJCOST.
The talented team, consisting of Makim Dharmik, Krishna Patel, Madhav Maheshwari, and Namra Ritesh Shah from the Institute of Technology, showcased their skills in the Intelligent Ground Vehicle (IGV) category. They developed a fully autonomous robot that excelled in navigation, obstacle detection, terrain traversal, and real-time decision-making.
Before reaching the finale held at Science City, the team successfully won significant prize money during earlier rounds. They earned Rs 50,000 for their idea submission and Rs 2 lakh in the proof-of-concept stage. Their hard work culminated in clinching second place with an impressive reward of Rs 7.5 lakh.
This achievement is not just a testament to their technical abilities but also highlights Nirma University’s commitment to fostering innovation and excellence in engineering education.
