The Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIMA) has announced that all students in its Post Graduate Programme (PGP) Class of 2026 have secured job offers. This achievement follows a rigorous placement process that spanned multiple cohorts and involved recruiters from numerous sectors.
The placement effort kicked off with a lateral hiring phase from January 5 to January 15, specifically aimed at candidates with prior work experience looking for roles in technology, banking, finance, consulting, and analytics.
For the final placements, IIMA employed a cluster-cohort system. This method grouped companies by industry profiles and invited them in phases. Interestingly, students could still apply for their ‘dream’ jobs even after receiving offers. Over 150 such applications were logged during the process.
IIMA also reported complete placements for its specialized PGP in Food and Agribusiness Management (PGP-FABM). Forty-five graduates are expected to join various organizations between April and June of next year.
The roles offered varied widely but primarily focused on consulting, strategy, sales, and business development. Notably, the private equity and venture capital segments saw a remarkable increase—offers jumped by 45% compared to previous years.
Boston Consulting Group topped the list of recruiters in consulting with 33 offers. McKinsey & Company followed closely with 21 offers while Bain & Company made 20 offers. In investment banking, Goldman Sachs led with six offers; Citibank came next with four.
Sectors like analytics and IT consulting experienced massive hiring surges of up to 150%, alongside consumer services which also saw similar growth. Prominent companies participating included Accenture Strategy, Deloitte, EY-Parthenon, KPMG, PwC, JPMorgan Chase, Morgan Stanley, Amazon, Microsoft and Hindustan Unilever.
