The Gujarat Common Entrance Test (GujCET) will take place on March 29, offering a crucial path for students seeking admission to degree engineering and pharmacy programs. In Ahmedabad district alone, more than 18,000 students are gearing up to sit for the exam.
In the city of Ahmedabad, a total of 11,754 candidates have registered. Among them are 6,463 boys and 5,291 girls. Breaking it down by group: 6,523 students will participate in Group A, while Group B has 5,177 candidates and just 54 under Group AB.
When it comes to language preferences, English medium leads with 8,720 registrations. Gujarati medium follows with 2,512 students registered; Hindi medium sees a smaller number with only 522.
Across rural areas of Ahmedabad, another set of candidates awaits their turn. Here, registration stands at about 6,352 students—3,553 boys and 2,799 girls. For groups there are: Group A with 3,363 participants and Group B with 2,980; only nine candidates are in Group AB.
The preference for medium remains similar in rural areas as well: Gujarati medium has attracted around 3,097 registrations compared to English medium’s modest showing of about 3,146. Hindi medium reports just nine participants here too.
Exam centers across the district comprise a total of **59 buildings**, featuring **590 exam blocks** in urban settings alone. In rural parts of Ahmedabad City’s infrastructure supports test-taking at **30 locations**, utilizing **320 blocks**.
