Earlier this month, the Railways increased the coach strength of the Ahmedabad–Mumbai Central Vande Bharat Express to 20. Initially permitted till March 31, the arrangement has now been extended through April. The Railways has also announced temporary operational changes to the Karnavati Express, including the addition of an extra coach.
It is learnt that Train No. 22961/22962 Ahmedabad–Mumbai Central–Ahmedabad Vande Bharat Express, which was upgraded with four additional coaches, will continue to operate with 20 coaches from April 1 to April 27, 2026.
Meanwhile, Train No. 12933/12934 Mumbai Central–Vatva Karnavati Express, currently running from Bandra Terminus (BDTS) instead of Mumbai Central, will be augmented with an additional AC Chair Car coach (LWSCZAC), increasing its total composition from 21 to 22 coaches.
The railway administration has urged passengers to take note of these temporary changes and plan their travel accordingly.
