A total of 103 professional education institutions in the state have submitted proposals to the Fee Regulatory Committee (FRC) for a fee increase exceeding 5% for the academic years spanning from 2026 to 2029. These requests are part of a broader review process that involves evaluating fees based on the current academic blocks from 2023-2026.
Officials noted that out of 705 educational institutions invited to propose fee changes, only a fraction has pushed for significant hikes. Specifically, while 569 institutions recommended increases within the 5% limit for the next year, another 21 opted not to submit any proposal at all.
In addition to fee adjustments, twelve institutions have requested closure of certain courses. The first phase of this fee determination saw approvals granted to 522 institutions that complied with amended regulations and submitted their documentation properly. Authorities emphasized that once they complete the review process for those requesting hikes over the threshold, the final fee structure will be publicly announced.
