Bhavesh Lakhani has officially taken the helm as president of Vishwa Gujarati Samaj, following a unanimous decision by the organisation’s general council. The meeting took place at Karnavati Club in Ahmedabad, a key venue for community gatherings.
The proposal for his appointment was put forth by Mahendra Shah, receiving full support from all members present. As a prominent businessman with deep ties to political and social realms, Lakhani brings extensive experience to the role. He’s currently involved with the executive committee of the Gujarat unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party and serves as a director at Karnavati Club.
Lakhani is also recognized as the son of late Shashikant Lakhani, who was not only a respected lawyer but also served as a former minister. Upon assuming office, he expressed gratitude to Chief Minister Bhupendrabhai Patel and other members for their confidence in him.
“Collective efforts will help us achieve our objectives,” he remarked. “We need to strengthen our activities.” His vision points towards enhancing connections among Gujaratis worldwide and fostering collaboration between various Gujarati organizations and the Government of Gujarat.
