Gandhinagar is gearing up for Chaitri Navratri, which will kick off on March 19, 2026, and run through March 27. The festival is marked by a significant ritual known as Ghatsthapan, with the ideal timing set between 8:24 AM and 12:29 PM on the first day.
This year’s celebration coincides with several important festivals such as Gudi Padvo, the Hindu New Year, and Cheti Chand. Each day of Navratri honors a different form of the Goddess. On the first day, devotees will worship Shailputri. Day two is dedicated to Brahmacharini; day three is for Chandraghata; day four honors Kushmanda; followed by Skandh Mata on day five and Katyayani on day six.
The seventh day focuses on Kalratri, then Maha Gauri takes center stage on day eight, wrapping up with Siddhidatri on the final day.
During this period, millions flock to various temples across Gujarat including revered sites like Pavagadh, Chotila, Ambaji, Bahucharaji, and other shaktipeeths to participate in prayers and festivities.
