As summer nears, excitement builds among mango lovers in Ahmedabad. The beloved Alphonso mango is back on the market, but it comes with a hefty price tag: Rs 1,800 per dozen.
While a yellow wave alert earlier this March raised concerns about the weather, it hasn’t dampened the enthusiasm for these sweet fruits. Known for their rich flavor and creamy texture, Alphonso mangoes are considered some of the finest in the world.
Shoppers are already flocking to local markets to get their hands on this seasonal delicacy. Despite the high cost, many fans say it’s worth it. “You can’t beat the taste,” one customer noted. “It’s a summer tradition for us.”
Vendors report that demand is strong this year, and despite challenges from fluctuating weather patterns, they’re optimistic about sales. After all, nothing quite says summer like enjoying fresh mangoes with family and friends.
