The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted a steady rise in day and night temperatures across Gujarat over the coming days, even as dry weather conditions are expected to continue across the state until March 8.
According to the latest bulletin, maximum temperatures are likely to increase gradually by 3–5°C over the next four days. Minimum temperatures are also expected to climb by 2–3°C during the next three days, after which no significant change is anticipated.
Hot & Humid Warning
The IMD has warned that hot and humid conditions are very likely to prevail at isolated locations in coastal areas of the Gujarat region and Saurashtra-Kutch between March 4 and March 7.
Meanwhile, dry weather is expected to persist across all districts of the Gujarat region, Saurashtra-Kutch, and the Union Territories of Diu, Daman, and Dadra and Nagar Haveli over the next seven days.
Ahmedabad Forecast
In Ahmedabad and adjoining areas, the sky is expected to remain mainly clear until 8:30 am on March 2. The maximum temperature is likely to hover around 34°C, while the minimum temperature may settle near 22°C.
Health Advisory
The IMD noted that although temperatures are expected to remain largely tolerable for the general public, hot and humid conditions could cause moderate discomfort for vulnerable groups, including infants, senior citizens and individuals with chronic illnesses.
Residents are advised to limit prolonged exposure to heat, wear light-coloured and loose cotton clothing, and cover their heads while stepping outdoors.
