The Ahmedabad Urban Development Authority (AUDA) has floated tenders for the construction of a 36-metre-wide “Model TP Road” along with 18-metre-wide internal roads in the Manipur–Godhavi area under T.P. Scheme 429. The project, estimated at around ₹30.95 crore, aims to introduce upgraded urban infrastructure standards in the rapidly developing locality.
Multi-Modal Transit Corridor
The proposed model road will feature a full 36-metre Right of Way (ROW), designed to enhance safety, accessibility and commuter convenience. Key highlights include dedicated 1.5-metre-wide cycle tracks, raised parking spaces and broad footpaths for pedestrians.
To improve night-time visibility and overall road safety, the project will incorporate thermoplastic lane markings embedded with reflective glass beads, along with high-quality “cat-eye” road studs.
Upgraded Urban Infrastructure
The project goes beyond basic road construction, integrating modern street amenities into its design. Plans include installation of precast benches, decorative cylindrical bollards and separate metal dustbins for dry and wet waste.
For improved wayfinding and commuter information, advanced ACP signage mounted on gantries and cantilever structures will also be installed along the corridor.
Timeline and Quality Measures
The construction is expected to be completed within 12 months from the issuance of the work order. Engineering work will involve advanced processes such as surface milling and the laying of durable layers of Wet Mix Macadam (WMM) and Dense Graded Bituminous Macadam (DGBM).
To ensure long-term durability and construction quality, the project will carry a 36-month defect liability period.
Tender Process
AUDA has invited online bids for the project. Interested agencies must submit their tenders by March 2, 2026, with technical bids scheduled to be opened the following day.
