The Regional Passport Office Ahmedabad (RPO) will organise a special passport application drive on Saturday, March 14, at Passport Seva Kendras (PSKs) in Bapunagar and Vijay Cross Road.
The initiative has been launched in view of the unusually high demand for passport services witnessed in February. It aims to increase the number of appointment slots and provide faster access to passport-related services for applicants.
Appointments for March 14 have been opened online through the Passport Seva Portal under both normal and tatkal categories. Applicants who already have appointments on later dates, as well as those who missed their earlier slots, can reschedule and book appointments for the special drive.
The move is part of the broader efforts by the Union Ministry of External Affairs to strengthen citizen-centric service delivery by offering earlier appointment dates and expanding capacity during peak demand periods.
Earlier this month, RPO Ahmedabad had deployed a Passport Seva Mobile Van in Bhuj to improve accessibility and enhance last-mile service delivery. A similar mobile van facility was also introduced in Sanand for three days to manage the surge in demand.
