The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has announced the development of a state-of-the-art sports complex in Vastral, which will feature the city’s first international-standard football ground along with a host of modern sports amenities.
The project, built at an estimated cost of Rs 61.67 crore, has been allotted under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model for a period of 10 years. The annual rent has been fixed at Rs 2 lakh, with a 5 per cent escalation every five years. The contractor will also receive a 50 per cent reimbursement on electricity expenses.
Students from AMC School Board institutions will be provided free coaching and access to all sports facilities at the complex.
The facility will include both indoor and outdoor sports infrastructure such as a 400-metre grassy athletic track, four outdoor tennis courts, long jump and triple jump pits, a library, gymnasium, cafeteria and parking space.
The first floor will house a gymnasium equipped with steam, sauna and jacuzzi facilities, along with a multipurpose sports hall for yoga, martial arts, judo, karate, aerobics, boxing and floor exercises, supported by dedicated restroom facilities.
The second floor will feature a multipurpose indoor court designed for badminton, volleyball and basketball. The third floor will provide seating for 176 spectators, ensuring a comprehensive sporting experience for both athletes and visitors.
